This is how we proceed

From their expertise and experience, our coaches look at what steps are needed to create an effective and cohesive team.

There is no "one size fits all" approach. The steps a team will take cannot be poured into a rigid plan. Starting the process together in team brings insights about follow-up actions. Each member of the team is part of the system and helps design the next step.

The team coach clarifies ambiguous situations and exhorts the team to clarify roles. We give a place to the past, then successfully put a stop to it and tackle the present.

There is an eye for what is not working, but once again for what is. The team learns to appreciate the latter again and look at the situation from a different, positive angle. In this way, team members work together toward solutions.

We use models that have earned their stripes so that the team gets to work in an informed way. Obelisk uses Fry, Plovnick & Rubin's team effectiveness model and Lencioni's pyramid, among others.

FAQ

What is team coaching, and why is it useful?
Team coaching helps teams ( departments, project teams, or management teams)
to examine their collaboration and grow. Together with a team coach, you explore how the team currently works together: are roles clear, is communication open, and do team members give each other feedback?

During the coaching sessions, we map out the team dynamics, discuss talents and differences, and work toward concrete agreements on collaboration, communication, and behavior.

Result: a team with greater mutual understanding, clear agreements, and a shared approach to working together more effectively.
What are the main benefits of team coaching?
Team coaching fosters stronger collaboration and greater trust within the team. Roles, expectations, and responsibilities become clearer, reducing misunderstandings. Teams learn to communicate openly and provide constructive feedback, gain a better understanding of each other’s talents and work styles, and are able to address tensions more quickly. The result is a team that works together more purposefully and achieves shared goals more effectively.
What does a team coaching program entail?
A team coaching program begins with an intake session to understand the needs of the team and the organization. This is followed by interactive sessions that focus on specific real-world situations, with an emphasis on collaboration, communication, and feedback. The program concludes with an evaluation and clear agreements on how to further embed the insights and actions into daily work.
Is team coaching only for resolving conflicts?
No. Team coaching is often used when tensions or conflicts arise, but it is certainly not intended solely for that purpose. Many organizations use team coaching as a preventive measure to strengthen collaboration, improve communication, and clarify roles and expectations. In this way, a team grows not only through overcoming challenges, but also in terms of trust, efficiency, and shared results.
What is the difference between team coaching and team building?
Team building focuses primarily on strengthening the group atmosphere and fostering connections among team members (often through informal or experiential activities).

Team coaching takes it a step further and specifically addresses how a team works together. During team coaching, we examine roles, communication, collaboration, and underlying dynamics, with the goal of making structural improvements to the team’s performance.
