Greater resilience in times of change, case Sports Direct

A world in motion. That is the ultimate goal of the retail chain Sports Direct. Literally because they want to motivate people to exercise, figuratively because they want to continuously evolve as a company in this challenging economy. A lot of change creates frustrations and stress for both managers and employees. To deal with this, Obelisk started interactive in-house training on dealing with change and increasing resilience. The result? An interesting combination of practice and theory, co-creation and intervisions and many aha moments.

Dealing with stress at work: increase your mental resilience

Optimizing operations, motivating employees, digitizing processes, improving customer service, ... Sports Direct is an ambitious company that sets the bar high. From its headquarters in the UK, the various Belgian subsidiaries are managed with the aim of providing the best possible support to management and employees. Sports Direct approached Commerce Training , the Belgian training fund for the retail sector, to organize a learning program around resilience and dealing with change.

Resilient Coping with Change training can take place at various locations, tailored to the needs of the participants. Our primary location is our headquarters in Leuven, located at Grauwmeer 1. In addition, we offer the option of providing the training on-site at the client's premises, or at other suitable workshop or training venues nearby.

During the intake meeting, we will discuss the most appropriate location for your team. This can range from a quiet, green setting where participants can walk around during a break, to a more formal setting appropriate for a professional meeting.

Online or hybrid

Obelisk believes in the power of hybrid solutions; the combination of offline and online. Our hybrid trainings are not a "copy-paste" of classroom training. They are adapted to the new reality and our coaches retrained. The result is a full hybrid package with the best of both worlds, online and offline.

During an introductory meeting, we identify your questions, expectations and the unique context of your organization. This is how we ensure that our offer perfectly matches your needs.
Based on this first meeting, we work out a tailor-made offer, which we send to you by email or come to explain it in person. After your approval, we start designing the learning trajectory and planning the next steps, always in close consultation with you to optimally align the trajectory with your needs and goals.

"Applying the Growth mindset, and the accompanying solution-oriented questions, is going to help me and my team deal with setbacks and change. By constantly reminding ourselves and each other to have a forward-looking focus of possibilities, what is there and what we need instead of getting stuck in the past and thinking in problems or limitations."
